munster appoint next head coach
Munster have confirmed the appointment of Anthony Foley as their next head coach. The province have announced that Foley will be promoted from forwards coach to head coach this summer in place of the departing Rob Penney. The 40-year-old has agreed a two-year contract with the option of a third year after Munster chief executive Garrett Fitzgerald described him as "the stand-out candidate" to succeed Penney. After he was over-looked for the job two years ago, Foley says he's spent the intervening period trying to develop as a coach.
