It's reported that Nicky O'Connell has returned to the Clare hurling panel. According to the Irish Independent O'Connell apologised to the squad and was welcomed back by manager Davy Fitzgerald and the players. O'Connell and Davy O'Halloran left the squad last month with O'Halloran claiming in aNewspaper interview that he and O'Connell were punished for a breech of rules while a senior player wasn't for a similar offense. The accusation was denied by management while players released a statement in which they outlined their unity. The Banner open their Championship campaign against Limerick on May 24th.
