wexford intermediate hurling team beaten in leinster final
The reigning Leinster Intermediate Hurling Champions, Wexford, were well beaten in this year's final. The game finished Galway 1-20 Wexford 0-11. It was 1-9 to 3 points at half time. Brian Molloy grabbing Galway's goal after just 5 minutes. Wexford's task was made more difficult when John Leacy received a straight Red Card just 5 minutes after the break. Wexford never gave up but they were outclassed at the end. Joe Kelly was Wexford's top scorer with 8 points. There were also points from Michael O'Hanlon, Jim Berry and Tommy Dwyer. Galway now will meet Cork in the All Ireland final.
