Almost 13,000 items seized by custom agents last year

Almost 13,000 items were seized by Irish customs agents in 2017.

New figures from the European Commission show 31 million fake and counterfeit goods worth over €580 million were seized across the EU last year. Grace Bolton of the EU Commission office in Dublin says food items were top of the smuggling list on 24%.
