Gardai have named the man murdered in last night's shooting in Dublin, as Mark Desmond.
Mr Desmond - who was aged in his late 30s and originally from Ballyfermot - was known to Gardai, and had a number of previous convictions. He was shot in Griffeen Valley Park in Lucan at around 8 o'clock last night - his body was discovered by a member of the public. The area has been preserved while Gardai continue to examine evidence while the scene where a car was found burnt out at nearby Hayden's Lane also remains sealed off.
