Details of the deal offered to ASTI teachers yesterday have emerged - the union has published the offer on their website today. It includes an opt-out clause for teachers who don't want to carry out supervision and substitution duties. There's also a proposal to gradually increase pay for newly qualified staff to almost 34-thousand a year - and a strategy to improve teachers health and wellbeing. The deal is similar to that already accepted by the TUI and INTO unions - but the ASTI has yet to reveal if it will accept it.
