One in ten Irish school children has serious difficulty with reading or writing.
This figure is as high as one in three in some disadvantaged schools. Today is International Literacy Day and the charity Suas Educational Development is launching a campaign to tackle literacy difficulties. The "ABC One in Three" Campaign encourages businesses play an active role in improving literacy, by mentoring school children and providing learning resources.
