Colfer new children's laureate

A County Wexford novelist has today been appointed as Ireland's Laureate na nÓg. Eoin Colfer - who's well known for his Artemis Fowl series of childrens novels - was announced as Ireland's laureate for children's literature this morning. The position was established to engage young people with high quality children's literature and to underline the importance of children's literature to the realms of culture and education. The former primary school teacher will hold the position for two years.
