Court appearance over gorey supermarket raid
A man has appeared before a court charged with the robbery of a Gorey supermarket yesterday afternoon. At about 3.40pm a man wearing a red balaclava entered the supermarket on Coach Road and demanded cash, threatening staff with a knife. The raider fled with a sum of money but was arrested by Gardai close by a short time later - the cash was also recovered. The man appeared before a special sitting of Gorey District Court at 9.30 last night where he was charged with the robbery. He was remanded in custody to appear before Wexford District Court tomorrow morning.
