D'arcy defends government decision over banking inquiry
A political opportunity is how Wexford Senator Michael D'Arcy has described his appointment to the banking inquiry. The Fine Gael Senator was added to the list of members bringing the total from nine to eleven after Senator Susan O'Keeffe from Labour was also added. This brings a majority of government deputies to the committee which the oppositon is opposed to. Senator D'Arcy says that the Seanad had to fight to get representaion on the committee in the first place with two senators appointed. He says the government were entitled to add members to the inquiry.
