Derek Kent has been officially nominated to run for the Presidency of the GAA aiming to succeed Jarlath Burns. Kent a prominent figure in GAA was proposed by Tony Dempsey at the annual Wexford GAA Convention last night. Mr Kent has served as Wexford County Chairman and currently holds the position of Chairman of Leinster GAA. His nomination will now be put forward for next year’s Annual Congress. The last Wexford native to hold the GAA Presidency was Michael Kehoe, who served from 1949 to 1952.
