The Independent Alliance is reportedly pushing for its own package of measures to be included in next week's budget.
Newspaper reports suggest the proposals focus on the needs of senior citizens. It's claimed some of the requests have already been turned down. The Alliance is to meet with the Ministers for Finance and Public Expenditure tomorrow, ahead of the final cabinet meeting before next Tuesday's budget. Meanwhile, Social Justice Ireland is calling on the Government to choose investment over tax cuts in the budget.
