Dissident republican shot dead in dublin, named
A prominent dissident republican who died after he was shot in Dublin yesterday has been named as 25 year-old Vincent Ryan. He is the brother of Real IRA figure, Alan Ryan, who was murdered in 2012. Vincent Ryan died at the Mater Hospital last night, after being shot a number of times on McKee Road in Finglas. Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward. Journalist with The Herald and The Independent, Conor Feehan, says it is not the first attempt on his life. "Vinny Ryan would have known for a long time that his life was in danger - and only last October he was slashed from ear to ear in an attack" he said. "There has been two other attempts gardaí think to kill him as well that were foiled". "He'd been told, he'd been warned several times that his life was in danger and he would have known that his life was in danger" he added
