Expert says irish water is over staffed
A high-profile economist is warning up to two billion euro is being overspent in the staffing of Irish Water. The company is obliged by law to pay for local authority employees from around the country who work on the current system. Professor John Fitzgerald from the ESRI says it means Irish Water will have to pay for more than four thousand staff, when it only needs around seventeen hundred. Agreements covering the issue are in place until 2026, and Irish Water says the resources and numbers of people involved will be reviewed every year.
