February mildest in many years

February was warmer and drier than average, according to Met Eireann.

The highest temperature was recorded in Mount Dillon in Roscommon where it reached 17.3 degrees. The month's wettest day was recorded at Valentia Observatory in Co Kerry with 26.3mm falling on the 19th.
