GOVT WITHOLDS GOAL FUNDING The government is withholding over 7-million euro worth of funding from aid agency Goal. It's after a US-led investigation was announced in April into corruption among aid programmes providing relief in Syria. Up to 25 aid agencies are thought to be under investigation. The US government has also suspended over 6-million euro in funding to the Irish charity. Goal says it's doing its best to maintain operations despite funding being withheld.
