The Environment Minister Denis Naughten says an agreement by 200 countries to limit the use of potent greenhouse gases as part of efforts to fight climate change is historic.
HFC's are found in fridges and air conditioners, and are 10-thousand times more damaging than carbon dioxide. Most of Europe and the United States have agreed to cut usage by 85% by 2036. Minister Naughten says it is another milestone in the battle to protect the planet from harmful gases and substances.
