Investigation launced after explosive device found in gorey
An explosive device, found outside the County Wexford home of Fiona Doyle, has been made safe by the army bomb disposal team. It was discovered outside the house she shares with her husband in Ballycanew in Gorey, this morning. The area was sealed off, a cordon was put in place and a number of nearby houses were evacuated. The device was made safe at the scene without the need for a controlled explosion and the area was declared safe at 2pm. Ms Doyle came to prominence after giving up her right to anonymity after she was abused by her father. However the incident is not believed to be connected to her but to her husband, who works as a bouncer in Wicklow. An investigation has been launched and anyone with information is asked to contact Gorey Garda station.
