Investigation underway following pub shooting
Gardaí in Westmeath are investigating a shooting at a pub. A car - believed to be involved in the incident - was later found on fire. At around 7.30 yesterday evening, a number of shots were fired outside a pub in Ballymore, near Athlone, however, no one was injured. Gardaí say the car involved in the incident - a Laois registered, Hyundai Trajet - was seen travelling in the Athlone direction. It was found on fire a short time later. The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and an investigation has been launched. Anyone with information is asked to contact Athlone Garda Station.
