Lowry withdraws from olympics
Irish golfer Shane Lowry has withdrawn from the Olympics due to the Zika virus. He becomes the second Irish participant - after Rory McIlroy - to pull back from competing at the games over the mosquito born virus. In a statement Shane says he has recently gotten married and both he and his wife Wendy would like to have a family in the future. He says as a result he believes he would be putting his family's health at risk were he to take part in the Olympics this summer. Zika has been linked to birth defects amongst infants.
