Lucinda creighton to join dail technical group
Lucinda Creighton says joining the Dail technical group is an 'exciting prospect'. The former Fine Gael junior minister has applied to join the group, and the final decision is down to the Ceann Comhairle Sean Barrett. As the Dail returns from its summer break, there's speculation that the other five so-called 'Reform Alliance' TDs could follow her lead, bringing the technical group membership to 21. And she has acknowledged that could be a cause of concern for the main opposition parties. "For example if all of the ex- Fine Gael and ex-Labour TDs join, it'll be the biggest opposition group - so bigger than Fianna Fail or Sinn Fein" she said. "It is an exciting prospect; and while there may not be a whole lot of common ground, it's not a policy alliance - it's simply a technical alliance in order to ensure that we can all participate" she added.
