Museum Crew Here About A Whale

A video crew is in Wexford today from the Natural History Museum in London to film the location where a blue whale was beached in the late 1800s. It's to go with the erection of the whale's skeleton in the entrance hall of the museum, replacing that of a dinosaur. The whale died on a sandbank in the mouth of Wexford Harbour in 1891 and the skeleton was later sold to the museum. The presence of the film crew followed a request by the former warden of the Wexford Nature Reserve, the late Chris Wilson, for the museum to highlight the origin of the skeleton.
