New legislation over clamping introduced
New legislation has been introduced to protect motorists from rogue clampers - who could now face fines themselves of up to 5,000 euro. The new laws outlined this afternoon set a maximum release fee for people who've been clamped and will ensure there's adequate warning signage on private sites including shopping centres, schools and hospitals. There's also a two stage appeals process for those who feel they've been clamped inappropriately.
