New marking scheme will mean more leaving cert rechecks - experts

Education experts are warning a new marking system could lead to more rechecks after the Leaving results come out next week.

Under the changes students will have the potential to get eight different grades rather than the old 14. They range from H1-H8 for Higher Level and O1- O2 for Ordinary Level papers.
