New plans proposed for traffic offences

Guidelines on how to deal with road traffic offences should be given to District Court judges, according to the Transport Minister.

Shane Ross says there's too wide a variance in sentencing for offences being handed down by judges. The Minister says it sends the wrong message to motorists about committing a road traffic offence.
