Students will be soon be able to take Physical Education as a Leaving Cert subject.
Schools are being invited to apply to the Department of Education to take PE as an exam. It will be introduced on a phased basis from next September with at least 50 schools expected to take part initially. The announcement is part of the government's emphasis on encouraging healthy lifestyles.
