Public sector workers consider strike action

A ballot for industrial action among public sector workers will go ahead at the end of the month, if no progress is made in pay review talks.

SIPTU has started a consultation process with members ahead of a ballot. Both the government and unions have been invited to talks on the issue at the WRC. SIPTU's Deputy General Secretary John King says progress needs to be made by August 29th
