A yacht sank in Rosslare Harbour in the early hours of this morning.
A crew from Rosslare Lifeboat brought the man and woman who were on board to safety. The boat was sailing to southern England from Dublin when it encountered strong north western winds which pushed it into the harbour. The sailors sent a distress signal, but the emergency services were uncertain of the vessel's location and lifeboat crews were also launched from Kilmore Quay and Dunmore East, but a security guard doing a check on the port spotted the boat and contacted Rosslare Lifeboat directly.
