The passing of the laws behind the new system of rent caps has been delayed.
The Seanad was due to sit today to consider the new measures, ahead of passing them into law before the New Year. But the bill has been taken off the Seanad agenda because there hasn't been enough time to arrange the proper paperwork. Oireachtas staff were unable to process all the materials in time, after the Dail sat late on Friday night to pass the bill.
