Officials from the Department of Justice and Education are due to meet with unions this week to discuss strike action.
It comes as Gardaí and Teachers plan strike action this month and next - and train drivers are balloted on their next move. Gardaí and members of the teaching union the ASTI are involved in long running disputes over pay and conditions.
