War veteran to be honoured
A County Wexford war veteran is set to have his memory set in stone by the British government Sergeant Major Martin Doyle from New Ross who fought with the British Army in World War One was awarded the Victoria Cross for his services in 1918 Now he is to be one of twenty seven Irish born soldiers who will have specially designed stone memorials erected in thier home towns to mark the centenary of World War One Martin Doyle later fought against the British when he joined the IRA during the War of Independence
