The mobile cath lab promised for Waterford University Hospital will be in operation within weeks.
It follows huge political pressure to improve out of hours service for emergency cardiac patients in the South East. The service will be available initially for five months and will be used primarily for reducing patient waiting lists for diagnostic angiogram procedures.
