Weather warning for the west
An orange weather alert is in place today warning of snow and ice in Donegal. Up to six centimetres of snow is expected to fall above five hundred feet and ice may affect many roads this morning. A snow and ice warning is also in place for Connacht, Longford, Westmeath, Cavan and Monaghan. A yellow wind warning is in place for the Atlantic coast, with winds of up to 100 kilometres expected.
