County Wexford is preparing for potentially serious flooding as Storm Austen approaches with a Status Orange rainfall warning coming into effect overnight.
Met Éireann is warning of intense rainfall, very difficult travelling conditions and possible disruption to bus and rail services.
The Orange warning runs from two until eight tomorrow morning, while a nationwide Yellow rain and wind warning begins at seven this evening.
Wexford County Council says its severe weather team has met to coordinate preparations, and is urging motorists never to drive through flooded roads.
The council is also warning that flooding could remain a risk even after the storm has passed.
