Wexford senator suggests adding more measures to plain packaging bill
After the Health Minister announced plans to bring in plain packaging for cigarettes a Wexford Sentor has suggested adding more measures to the bill. Jim Walsh suggested in a debate on the move in the Seanad this week that it could also be mandatory for tobacco companies to include a list of ingredients on packets. Senator Walsh says the practice is already mandatory for the pharmacutical industry and could be extended to the tobacco companies. He says a full list of chemical ingredients should be included outlining the risks of each of them and their effects on smokers.
