Bausch and Lomb say the future of their Waterford plant is at risk because of planned industrial action by workers. Employees have announced a number of one-hour work stoppages starting on December 21st. They're looking for the restoration of pay cuts implemented two years ago, and have rejected a Labour Court proposal. Management at the manufacturer say they won't consider full pay restoration, and will take action if planned stoppages go ahead.
